June 8, 2020

BARNSTABLE – Steve Xiarhos, Republican candidate for State Representative, proudly announced today that his candidacy has been officially endorsed by Barnstable Town Councilor Matthew P. Levesque.

“Like many others, I have known Steve for a number of years through his work as a police officer, as a Gold Star Father, and as someone who gives generously of his time to help people in the community who are suffering,” said Levesque. “I constantly admire Steve’s passion for helping others and the boundless energy he dedicates to serving his neighbors. Most recently, I have been privileged to volunteer alongside him serving food to people through the Food4Vets program during the COVID-19 crisis. No matter where or when there has been a need for assistance, Steve has answered the call and responded to help organize people and distribute resources to people in need. I have no question in my mind that Steve will bring these qualities of service, dedication, and experience to work in Beacon Hill on behalf of his constituents. Therefore, I am proud to endorse my friend, Steve Xiarhos, for State Representative.”

“I am proud to call Councilor Levesque my friend and I am honored by his endorsement,” said Xiarhos. “If elected, I look forward to working with him and others in town government to serve the needs of the people of Barnstable on Beacon Hill.”

Elected to the Barnstable Town Council in 2017, Matthew Levesque represents Precinct 10 (Marstons Mills).

The Republican primary is Tuesday, September 1. The general election is on November 3.
