WEST BARNSTABLE – Steve Xiarhos, Republican Candidate for State Representative in the 5th Barnstable District, announced today that his campaign has been endorsed by State Representative Susan Williams Gifford (R – 2nd Plymouth District).
“Steve Xiarhos is a great candidate, but more than that, he is a terrific person,” said Representative Gifford. “Steve knows how important it is for us to protect the environment of Cape Cod and to nurture its fragile tourist-based economy back to vitality. He also knows how important it is to work with local small businesses to create jobs and grow our economy. All of this can be done at the same time, but it takes vision and leadership to accomplish. Steve has both. I also respect his years of experience as a police officer and Deputy Chief of Police, and I trust him to advocate for public safety as a member of the Legislature. I am proud to endorse Steve Xiarhos for State Representative in the 5th Barnstable District.”
“I appreciate Representative Gifford’s endorsement of my campaign,” said Xiarhos. “Susan Williams Gifford is a great State Representative for the people of the 2nd Plymouth District. She has worked tirelessly to protect the environmentally-sensitive areas of Southeast Massachusetts, and to work together with local businesses and our tourism industry to grow our economy. I appreciate her support of my candidacy and I look forward to the opportunity to work with her on these and other issues as a member of the House.”
