XIARHOS COMMENDS UPDATED STATE BUDGET PLAN FILED BY GOVERNOR BAKER
October 14, 2020

“I would like to commend Governor Baker and his administration for proposing a new budget plan for the current fiscal year that does not involve any broad-based tax increases. While I await further details and I still remain concerned about certain financial consequences we face as a state — including substantial draws from our Rainy Day Fund and increased spending — our most important financial priority right now needs to be holding the line against new taxes. Working families simply cannot afford to pay more money. If elected, I look forward to working with the Baker administration to dig even deeper into our state’s finances and find ways to further improve our state’s financial position.” |
Xiarhos has made fiscal responsibility a priority issue in his campaign, and has consistently voiced his opposition to tax increases for Massachusetts residents.
