Lisa Sajedi: “Xiarhos Has Done A Lot For Sandwich”

I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude to Representative Steven Xiarhos for his exceptional service and unwavering dedication to our community. His tireless efforts have brought critical state funding to Sandwich, leading to transformative improvements that benefit every resident and visitor alike.

Most notably, Rep. Xiarhos played a key role in securing $300,000 for the restoration of our beloved Sandwich Boardwalk, a project that preserves a historic landmark while ensuring it remains a centerpiece of our town. His efforts didn’t stop there. He obtained $17,000 for the Sandwich Fire Department to support the fire boat at the Sandwich Marina and Cape Cod Canal, $300,000 to enhance the safety of the Quaker Meetinghouse and Route 130 intersections, and $50,000 for crucial wastewater treatment improvements. His commitment to our youth is evident through the $20,000 for the new recreation area at our Little League fields, $10,000 for upgrades to the Pop Warner football stadium and $10,000 for lighting at Fenton baseball field. These investments in public safety, infrastructure and recreational spaces are just a glimpse of the incredible work he’s done.

Further, Rep. Xiarhos secured $75,000 for emergency generators at town hall to ensure critical town services remain functional during power outages. And let’s not forget his success in obtaining grants to enhance our roadwork projects, supporting our police and fire departments, and continually advocating for our school system. These initiatives improve the quality of life for everyone in Sandwich.

Beyond the local funding, Rep. Xiarhos serves on key committees—such as Ways and Means, Public Safety and Homeland Security, Veterans and Federal Affairs, and Mental Health and Substance Use—where his influence extends far beyond our town, affecting positive change throughout the commonwealth.
