Committee Assignments
Each member of the House is assigned to serve on various legislative committees that hear testimony from the public and make initial decisions on whether legislation should be passed into law. This year, I was honored to be appointed to serve as a member of the House Committee on Ways and Means. This committee plays a crucial role in shaping the state’s budget and fiscal policies, including laws regarding revenue, and making recommendations on state expenditures.
I also was appointed to serve as the Ranking Minority Member on the Joint Committee on Veterans and Federal Affairs, Assistant Ranking Minority Member on the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security, and as a member of the Joint Committee on Mental Health, Substance Use and Recovery.
It is my distinct honor and pleasure to serve the people of the 5th Barnstable District as a member of these committees.
